Radiologic Sciences

This field of research at the Centre for Health and Technology is characterised by the extensive use of advanced technologies. The health service research we provide is primarily motivated by the need for radiation protection, fair and equal access to services and the efficient use of resources.

Rapid technological development requires a continuous update of the clinical radiographer’s proficiencies. Our research focuses on the optimal application of imaging and therapy technologies.

Relevant questions in our research are:

  • How can diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology and radiotherapy services be efficiently organised for the benefit of both individual patients and society in general?
  • How can the aim of equal access to high quality radiology services be achieved?
  • How to achieve optimisation of dose and image quality?
  • How to ensure co-operation and involvement in decision-making during a short meeting with the patient?
  • How to facilitate the professional development of radiography students?

The educational programs we provide are closely intertwined with our research focusing on technological, professional, and service development. Services in remote areas and interventional radiology are of specific interest. We emphasise international co-operation as well as local interest and underpinning.
