Your student relationship as a PhD candidate

Graduation hat

Student card

When you take a doctorate at USN, you are considered an employee. You do not automatically have all rights as ordinary students. You do not pay semester fees and are therefore not entitled to a student card at USN. If you still need a student card, you can apply for an international student card here.

Subjects/courses in your education plan

You yourself are responsible for registering for teaching and examinations in all subjects in your approved education plan. You register directly in Studentweb. All changes to the education plan must be applied for, and must be approved by the PhD program committee before you register for a new course. See additional information in the PhD handbook or contact your PhD coordinator.

Exam regulations

All subjects with exams follow USN's regulations for exams.
