My research interests lie at the intersections of international and global history, human rights education, and post- and decolonial perspectives on education. My work has concentrated on the history of Norwegian foreign policy, the League of Nations, the transition to the United Nations, and the imperial legacies underpinning both organizations. Another area of expertise is history and social studies didactics, with a focus on inclusive history teaching and the role of history education. I am further interested in textbook analysis, particularly representations of colonialism and Eurocentric perspectives in textual and visual materials. I am especially committed to developing teaching that help students cultivate historical empathy and critical thinking, question dominant historical narratives, and recognize harmful patterns of historical thought that continue to shape society and influence our understanding of the world.
