Join the online workshop Introduction to Data Management in Hard Sciences (catalogue.educalliance.eu), and learn about the organisation, description, storage and sharing of research data in a responsible way.

Here you will also learn to use the FAIR principles, and see how a data management plan (DMP) can be of use in your research.

FAIR principles

The FAIR principles are intended to make research data easier to find, access and reuse, for both people and computers. 

FAIR stands for:

  • Findable: easy to find: Data are given a persistent identifier and a good description, so that others can find them.
  • Accessible: accessible: It is clear how to access the data, and what conditions apply.
  • Interoperable: usable across systems: Data use standardised formats and concepts, so that they can be combined with other data.
  • Reusable: can be reused: Data are well documented, with clear information about quality, provenance and conditions for further use.

Note! FAIR does not mean that all data must be open to everyone. Access may be restricted, for example for privacy reasons, and data can still follow the FAIR principles.

The workshop is open to all PhD candidates, and candidates in their first year will be prioritised.

The workshop takes place in English.
