Department of Natural Sciences and Environmental Health
Do you want to help ensure that nature and the environment are managed as well as possible? Are you curious about how environmental factors like mercury and ticks affect people? Would you like to conduct research on bears and beavers? Our study programmes provide you with a holistic understanding of the natural environment and maths/science, plus the knowledge and skills that society needs.
Our research
Our research is focused on four main areas:
- AQUAHiT
- LEBE!
- Health & Exercise - a Life Course Perspective (HELP)
- Climate change and alpine ecosystems
There is a great deal of research activity and some of the research groups are world leading within their fields. We want our research to be relevant and applied both regionally, nationally and internationally. Students can take part in several research projects and results from the research are also actively used in the teaching.
Regional collaborations
INHM wants to be a strong regional partner and can offer both laboratory services and research services.
Researchers and students can form partnerships with regional partners. We have well-developed laboratories for analysis of soil and water. You can either buy services or enter into research collaboration.
