Linn Hege Førsund is an associate professor at the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences and is the leader of the master's programme in Advanced Practice Nursing. She works with development work related to education and professional practice for Advanced Practice Nursing at USN and in a national context. She also work as an Associate Professor II at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, connected to their masters programme in Advaced Practice Nursing Her primary research areas concern the development of advanced roles and functions for nurse practitioners, the municipal health care services, evaluation of APN models and clinical competence in the health care services. She also does educational research and pedagogical development work focusing on student active learning methods, constructive alignment, curriculum and learning design and the development of practice models for APN students in clinical practice. She received the status as an Excellent Teaching Practitioner in spring 2022.
