Responsibilities
- Lead the master's program in Advanced Practice Nursing.
- Conduct development work related to education and professional practice for Advanced Practice Nursing at USN and in a national context.
- Supervise students on master’s and PhD level
- Grant acquisition
- Conduct research in advanced roles and functions for nurse practitioners, municipal healthcare services, and clinical competence in the health care services.
- Conduct educational research and pedagogical development work focusing on student active learning methods, constructive alignment, curriculum and learning design, and practice models for APN students in clinical practice.
Ongoing Projects
Project: Systematic Advance Care Planning in Nursing Homes and 24-Hour Care Services, with Overarching Treatment Plans (OBS Plans): A Research-Based Evaluation.
Role: Main supervisor for PhD project. Public sector PhD in collaboration with Notodden Municipality.
Project: Development and Evaluation of a Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing in the Faroe Islands: An Action Research Approach.
Role: Co-supervisor for PhD project. Affiliated with the University of the Faroe Islands in collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark.
Project: Assessing and Appraising the Progress of Novel Nurse Practitioner Models in Primary Healthcare Services in Norway to Improve Patient Accessibility to Quality Care and Treatment.
Role: Main supervisor for PhD project. Affiliated with the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in collaboration with Åbo Akademi University, Finland.
Project: BRIDGE-NP: Bridging the Care Gap for Elderly Living at Home with Concurrent Physical and Mental Health Challenges – Developing Strategies for Nurse Practitioner Interventions.
Role: Co-supervisor for PhD project. Affiliated with the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences.
