Moreover, the Centre embraces the principles highlighted in the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion and the Norwegian “Public Health Law” in our research on how different technologies can help people gaining better control over their own health, paying attention on creating healthy environments (either physical, social, or digital), and tackling social inequalities in health.
Examples of overarching research questions that we investigate within this area of expertise include:
- How can digital technology support and boost public health and health promotion initiatives, reaching population groups most in need and reducing health inequalities in the population?
- How can academia effectively collaborate with the public and private sector with the goal of designing and delivering digital solutions supporting public health and health promotion initiatives that leave noone behind?
- How can VR technology facilitate and promote nature experiences for health and wellbeing in different population groups?
- How can mHealth solutions support people making healthy choices and maintain healthy behaviors?
- How can wearable devices contribute to monitoring of health indicators (e.g., sleepwake patterns, physical activity levels, heart-rate variability, etc.)?
