All content in Teams (files, chats, etc.) is stored in the Microsoft 365 cloud, see the privacy statement (in norwegian) for the M365 services.
Teams have functionality for storing files and building file structures.
In Teams you can store data / information that has a green or yellow classification.

Backup
No local backup is taken of the content in Teams.
However, there are recovery options.
Deleted files are available for 30 days. IT Support can recover deleted files.
