Work placement/internship and contact with working life

We have close cooperation with the business community. Representatives from the workforce are invited as guest lecturers, and students are invited to company visits, breakfast meetings, seminars and conferences together with the business community in the region. Here you can meet future employers, build networks and find clients for tasks to be completed during your studies.

You also have the opportunity to get a mentor through the USN Business School's mentor programme.

In addition, you can choose to take an internship (work placement during your education).

Internship

An internship in a company or organisation is offered as an option during the 5th or 6th semester of the programme.

Mentor programme

The mentor programme is an opportunity for students in their 2nd and 3rd year. The mentor acts as a discussion partner, network builder, inspirer and adviser in the student's choice of career path or further studies. Mentors are recruited from private, public and voluntary sectors.

In the final year of study, you have several elective options based on your own interests. 

In the 5th semester, you can choose:

  • Elective subject package at USN

Specialisations Vestfold

As a student of the bachelor's degree in economics and management, you have the opportunity to take the third year of study (5th and/or 6th semester) at one of the other campuses at USN Business School. In the 6th semester of the programme, campus-specific specialisations are offered within the field of economics and management. In the 5th semester, you can choose modules within various subject areas with recommended combinations. It is also possible to take the 5th semester abroad.

In the 6th semester, you can choose between the following specialisations at the Vestfold campus:

  • Accountant (5th and 6th semester)
  • Economics
