Mari Starup

As a former navigation officer turned maritime lecturer and researcher, I bring a unique blend of hands-on seafaring experience and academic rigour to the table. In my current role as a PhD Research Fellow at the University of South Eastern Norway’s Department of Maritime Operations, I explore how students and instructors interact in high-fidelity maritime simulator environments, uncovering how social interactions, combined with a mediating tool such as an authentic bridge simulator, affect learning.
