The meeting brought together network members and invited guests to further develop collaboration, exchange experiences, and explore pedagogical perspectives related to Slow Teaching in higher education.
The meeting began with presentations and discussions on Slow Teaching from a Nordic perspective. Participants shared ongoing work and reflected on how slow and reflective teaching approaches can be developed and integrated into higher education. This was followed by exploratory activities led by network members, where embodied, material, and narrative approaches were used to investigate the challenges and possibilities of Slow Teaching. Scroll portfolios, ritual-building, and material storytelling served as foundations for reflection and the generation of new ideas. We brought our avatars to life 😊
As part of the programme, a public session was held. Keynote presentations were delivered by network members. Each presentation was followed by dialogue and discussion with participants, providing opportunities to further explore perspectives on Slow Teaching and related educational themes.
On the second day, participants continued their exchange of ideas and explored future opportunities for collaboration. Through workshops, play-based, studio-based, and socio-material approaches to teaching were examined. Key themes included the role of the body in learning and experiences of tempo, the importance of time in educational processes, and the ways in which Slow Teaching can function as a valuable resource in higher education.
The meeting concluded with discussions about the future development of the network. The meeting strengthened the Nordic collaboration and provided a foundation for continued research, publication, and project development within the field of Slow Teaching in Higher Education.
