Training and Assessment Research Group (TARG)

TARG is focused on developing tools, methods, and solutions for improved performance and safety in complex socio-technical systems (maritime and process industries).

Recently, the research group is mainly focused on developing training and assessment methods (rigorous, unbiased and automated) for complex work performances such as coastal navigation, maritime operations and teamwork. TARG was co-counded by Prof. Øvergård and Prof. Nazir in 2015. TARG constitutes of 2 bachelor, 6 master, 1 PhD student(s), 1 scientific assistanct and 2 professors.

Simulation training and assessment is central to USNs strategy, and the institution has a large simulator park.
